Overtime hours shall be paid by an employer to an employee who is required to work beyond standard hours as follows:

  • On normal days, at a rate of at least 150%;
  • On weekly days off, at a rate of at least 200%;
  • On holidays and paid leave days at a rate of at least 300%.

Where an employee is allowed time off for the additional hours worked, the employer shall only be required to pay the difference between the overtime rate and the wage as calculated according to the wage unit price or wage of the current work of normal working days of employee.

When working overtime at night, the employee shall be paid an additional amount of at least 30% of the wage calculated according to the wage unit price or day shift wage of the current work. (Note that as from 1 May 2013, the employee working overtime at night, in addition to the salary as prescribed above, he/she shall also be paid an additional 20% of salary calculated by the salary unit price or the salary of work done in the day time).
