Foreigners must obtain WP to be allowed to legally work in Vietnam under one of the following forms (except exemptions):

  • Pursuant to a labour contract;
  • Internal transfer within an enterprise which has a commercial presence in Vietnam;
  • Performance of economic, commercial, financial, banking, insurance, scientific and technical, cultural, sporting, education or medical contracts;
  • Service providers pursuant to a contract;
  • People offering services in Vietnam;
